THE WAY I GET SOMETIMES IS JUST SO
three hours on the phone scrubbing
out the tub like living together
almost like going through it what
something apace about the apartment
slurring lines drunkenly almost
what was once in my body
is now somewhere else descent
of chaos via gastrointestinal
mechanisms a hat a mirror
a white ROUND shaped TABLET
imprinted with DAN on the front
and 2.5 on the back the pill bottle
willful beingness imagining life
as a bottle episode all wrapped up
by the place you put your mouth
lips on lips lips in ears a fan
blurring some color of noise
pink maybe or was it violet
the tree on the corner proving
existence can be yes and also
too a friend so distance and so
immediate now now all of it
three hours of us spiraling
through the waxy line
my apartment so here
so there the dishes all done
me to eat off of them hard
and fragile the degradation
of a phone’s battery the life
of a shelf the end of a call
the pulp of a dangling
elation
